2024 Leader in Training Internship Program (LIT) 2024 Leader in Training Internship Program (LIT)

Leader in Training Internship Program- What is it? This program is an opportunity to spend a summer with our highly trained and enthusiastic staff. Candidates will develop self-awareness, build conflict resolution skills, and identify and address personal challenges. This does not guarantee a counselor position in future summers; however it does offer an opportunity to show off your skills and desire to be in the running for a counselor position post LIT Internship Program.

How do I go about becoming an LIT? All interested candidates must participate in an interview process with the Director of Recreation and the Camp Director. Please call the Recreation Department to schedule your interview.
Who are we looking for? We are looking for candidates' ages 15 -16 years old who are motivated, creative, independent, and candidates who are especially enthusiastic about our summer camp. We would prefer a candidate who can devote their entire summer; however we will take your vacations into consideration.
What is expected of you? After a candidate is accepted into the program, we require attendance to camp Monday through Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm. We require attendance all eight (8) weeks unless vacations are specified ahead of time with the camp director.  Candidates will also be expected to attend First Aid and CPR training held by the Recreation Department prior to the start of camp. We want candidates to feel they are part of our camp staff.

Fee and other information: There is a one time $100.00 fee which covers all eight (8) weeks of camp, CPR and First Aid training, t-shirt, pizza Friday's, certain field trips, and all of the wonderful experiences you will gain in our internship program.

We will call all applicants to set up an interview. The interviews will be conducted up until the end of April. All qualified candidates will be notified of their acceptance by the end of May.QUESTIONS? Contact Recreation Department staff at:  franklinrecreation@franklinma.gov
